Denham Springs Fine Art Association April 1,2013 Meeting

Denham Springs Fine Art Association meeting will be Monday, April 1st at the Old City Hall, Denham Springs on Mattie Street at 7 pm. Our Guest Speaker will Roberta Loflin. Her presentation will be on texture and water techniques.Roberta Loflin studied art history and theory at George Washington University in Washington, DC. She also studied for several years at the Art League School in Alexandria, VA where she fell in love with painting in watercolor and color theory.  After moving to Louisiana, Roberta was able to study under several local and internationally known artists and began sharing what she paints with students at LSU Union Leisure classes, LSU OLLI continuing education classes, the Louisiana Art and Artists’ Guild and other venues. Her artwork can be seen a various locations in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

Denham Springs Fine Art Association Spring Show

The DSFAA Spring show will be held May 3 - May 31, 2013. The show will be at Denham Springs / Walker Branch Library located at 8101 Florida Blvd. E, Denham Springs, LA
The Art Take In will be at Mike Avants Insurance office at 315 North Range near the intersection of Centerville and Range Ave. The take in times are Wednesday May 1, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then again on Thursday May 2, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 700 p.m. The Art Pick up Times Friday May 31, 2013 during normal Library hours.
The Judge for the show will be BILLIE BOURGEOIS.
This is a member only show. Entry fee is three pieces for $25.00. The catergories are Works Under glass, Works not under glass, Photography.

Art Show in Livingston

Bonnie Smith-Williams is the guest artist for March & April at the Livingston Parish Main Branch Library, 20390 Iowa Street, Livingston LA. She has for view a range of subjects, new techniques, and different mediums. The largest painting a 36x48 mixed medium piece titled "Portrait Of Fibro Pain" is dedicated to people who suffer from Fibromyalgia and Lupus.  The exhibit can be seen during regular library hours.  For more information on the exhibit please contact Rita Millican or Bonnie at
