Our DSFAA treasurer, Rae Robert passed away, Monday, February 9, 2015. She had a kind giving heart, and was always willing to help in any way that she could. If anyone needed her, she was always available. She loved painting and photography. She was serving her second term as treasurer of DSFAA. She is going to be deeply missed as a member of DSFAA , but also as a friend to many. In honor of Rae it was suggested that we all wear RED to the March meeting.
What a wonderful treat it was to have Alla give us a demo on oil painting from a beautiful photo she took of a Louisiana Swamp scene. She blew us away in what she accomplished on canvas in such a short time. I would like to personally thank Alla on behalf of DSFAA for a fine demonstration in oil paintings. I can't say how many wonderful comments and emails I have received on her wonderful demo.
Please contact Alla and Bill for any of your Art Reproduction, Custom Mats and Framing needs. Phone (225) 771-8801 or Email : firstname.lastname@example.org

Memberships are being accepted for 2015. This group of creative people are from all over the area, not only from Livingston Parish. Come join us as we increase the presence of art in our community. The monthly meetings are usually on the first Monday of the month (unless a holiday) start at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room at the Denham Springs Municipal building 941 Government Drive, Denham Springs, LA. DSFAA has demo artists and speakers each month along with exceptional refreshments. Alla Baltas of Alla's Fine Art and Framing will be the demo artist for the February 2 meeting. She will be doing an oil landscape demonstration. Many different venues of interesting topics and demos are in the works for 2015. Two judged shows are already scheduled for the year. Plus two more shows that will be hung in different locations are being planned. Details are in the works. The shows have three categories. The last few years photography has been included and member participation has been high. DSFAA is a non profit organization formed to encourage artists of all levels dedicated to sharing knowledge, to inspire, secure hanging space, help others, to bring focus on the visual arts, and to have a primary role in the region's growing art community. Join us at the next meeting. You don't have to be an artist to join. All are welcome to share the fun and gain knowledge from the programs.
