Reminder -DSFAA General Meeting February 2, 2015

The Denham Springs Fine Art Association was established 18 years ago.  Members strive to keep the value of art in the eye of the community,  inspire like minded people, and make art available to everyone.  Come join DSFAA members for another year of excitement.  Memberships are being accepted for 2015. This group of creative people are from all over the area, not only from Livingston Parish. Come join us as we increase the presence of art in our community. The monthly meetings are usually on the first Monday of the month (unless a holiday) start at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room at the Denham Springs Municipal building 941 Government Drive, Denham Springs, LA.  DSFAA has  demo artists and speakers each month  along with exceptional refreshments. Alla Baltas of Alla's Fine Art and Framing will be the demo artist for the February 2 meeting. She will be doing an oil landscape demonstration.
Many different venues of  interesting topics and demos are in the works for 2015.
Two judged shows are already scheduled for the year. Plus two more shows that will be hung in different locations are being planned. Details are in the works.  The shows have three categories. The last few years photography has been included and member participation has been high.
DSFAA is a non profit organization formed to encourage artists of all levels dedicated to sharing knowledge, to inspire, secure hanging space, help others, to bring focus on the visual arts, and to have a primary role in the region's growing art community.  Join us at the next meeting. You don't have to be an artist to join. All are welcome to share the fun and gain knowledge from the programs. Bonnie Smith Williams Art Exhibit

Bonnie Smith Williams art is hanging at Ochsner Medical Center, 17000 Medical Center Dr., Baton Rouge, La. The exhibit titled "FAMILAR SUBJECTS-NEW AND OLD"  can be viewed on the "Tom Wallace Art Wall" until March 28, 2015
Each  piece of art tells a story or is done in a different technique. Ochsner maintains the art wall in an effort to support the arts and involve the community. For thousands of years, music, artwork, dance and other forms of art have been used to support the healing process. The art display is one of many ongoing projects of Ochsner Medical Center--Baton Rouge to promote a sense of well being and renewal to those who visit. This is one of the avenues Ochsner is using to demonstrate its commitment to the healing of patients, families, and employees.
